CEMSTAR 2K (External) Cement Board Jointing Compound

CemStar Cement Board Jointing Compound 2K is a two component system; it is a lightweight product used for jointing and repairing of cement boards, giving a smooth and high quality finish for further work. CemStar Resin (acrylic base) and CemStar Powder (cement base) are to be mixed at the site. The mixed product will adhere to old or new surfaces of cement boards. CemStar 2K is ideally suited for areas which undergo extreme climatic conditions as it has long life and great flexibility and has great resistance to chemical attacks, atmospheric pollution and UV radiation. This product has excellent coverage and bonding as well as adhesive properties and is a unique product from Trimix LLC. This product has anti-fungal properties.

Preparation: The supplied acrylic resin and cement powder is in 1:3 ratio; after adding the powder to the resin, use a high speed mixer or a power agitator (for 5-10 minutes) till the mixture is homogenous. In case it is to be sprayed, add water to get the correct consistency. Mixed CemStar 2K should be used within a hour of mixing. Therefore, mix only those quantities which can be used within this limit.

Application: Before application make sure the surface is clean, without any foreign particles or dust and the surface doesn't show signs of flaking or disintegrating and is clean and dry. Ridges and any forms of oil should be removed. If surface shows signs of flaking or dusting, clean it thoroughly. A primer of CemStar 2K Resin and water (in ratio 1:1) should be applied for such surfaces.

On such prepared surfaces apply the first coat of CemStar 2K using brush, scrapper, roller or by spraying. Further coats can be applied after allowing 4 hours to dry between coats.

All tools to be washed with water and wiped dry before storing for easy reuse.

Health & Safety

Prolonged contact with eyes and skin is not recommended. Always wear protective eye-gear and overalls. Detailed information is given in the MSDS. Affected areas should be washed with plain water immediately; seek medical attention if necessary.

Packing & Storage

CemStar Cement Board Jointing Compound 2K Resin in available in 1.25kg plastic spout bag and Powder in 3.75kg bag together in a 5kg plastic pail and 5kg plastic spout bag and 15kg powder separately but together in a 20kg pail.

Store in a clean, dry place. Always avoid direct sunlight and extremes of heat and cold.

Lid should be closed tightly after use. If stored unopened in good condition, product will have a shelf life of 12 months. Always follow first-in- first-out policy.
